The screen printing process includes a woven mesh or a screen that runs through a pre-press process of coating the screen. Upon completion, an image is transposed to the screen until it is set in the screen. The screen is loaded onto the press where the ink is flooded over the set image and transferred onto the substrate with a squeegee. To allow the applied ink to cure, the substrate is cured either by ultra-violet light or air dry. Since setup is a large part of screen printing costs, it is ideal to use this process with higher quantities.

By providing a solid lay-down of color, screen printing inhibits pixelation in its application. Beneficial when matching a specified color, paint swatch or PMS color, screen printing offers a greater color range, which can meet all desired colors. When producing an application with upscale metallic appeal, screen printing allows a larger range of metallic flakes and flake sizes to satisfy customized needs. With the use of weather-resistant inks, screen printing reduces the potential for color fading and other unwanted damage thus making the application very durable.   From vinyl to aluminum panels to fabric, screen printing can be applied to a many materials.
